TERMS & WARRANTY:

GUARANTEE
Subject to terms and conditions set forth herein, doors supplied by Doors A-Plenty are guaranteed for the term provided by the manufacturer, from the date of sale, to be of good material and workmanship, free from defects which may render them unserviceable or unfit for the use for which they were manufactured. Nothing herein contained shall exclude the rights which any purchaser may have under the Trade Act or similar State and Territory Laws.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Natural variations in the colour, texture or grain pattern of the wood are not to be considered defects. Doors must be accorded reasonable treatment by the purchaser and should be stored or hung in dry buildings and not in damp, moist or freshly plastered areas. The utility or structural strength must not be impaired in the fitting of the door, the application of hardware or cutting and altering the door in any way. Immediately after fitting BUT prior to hanging, the entire door including the top, bottom and side edges must be treated with paint or varnish ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. The manufacturer will not assume responsibility for doors which become defective because of failure to follow these recommendations or hazards of transport action or storage after door leaves the control of Doors A-Plenty. Doors must be inspected upon arrival for visible defect and the supplier notified of any claim within 7 days. The manufacturer agrees to repair or replace, at its option, unfinished and in the form originally supplied and without charge, any door found to be defective within the meaning of the guarantee. The manufacturer will not be held responsible for additional charges of hanging, painting or other charges arising from the replacement of doors.

INTERPRETATION OF WARP
Warp shall be interpreted so meaning the cupping, bowing or twisting of doors. It refers to the distortion within the door itself and not its relationship to the jambs or frame in which it is hung. Warp exceeding 5mm shall be considered a defect.

Exclusions
The guarantee against warp does not apply to the following:

  • Doors that are improperly hung or do not swing freely.
  • External doors which have been painted or stained dark colours.
  • Doors not maintained with adequate paint or stain according to the manufacturers recommendations to prevent deterioration of the doors.
Experience has demonstrated that when warp occurs after doors have been delivered to storage or building site it is usually due to improper storage or adverse moisture conditions after hanging and not faulty manufacture. The manufacturer will accept no responsibility for doors when moisture content of the timber is outside the manufacturers specifications. Obviously the manufacturer cannot assume responsibility for conditions beyond his control. He should however, be consulted promptly if excessive warping occurs so as to be of assistance in overcoming the difficulty.

Advisory Note
Considerable damage can occur during the delivery of doors, particularly to country areas. "Special Packaging" is recommended (optional extra cost) in an attempt to prevent transit damage. Door manufacturers and Doors A-Plenty are not responsible for transit damage.
